I am always the last to know, but Victor has been out of the country so maybe this is news to him. "Hotel Chevalier" is Wes Anderson’s short film that serves as a prequel to his upcoming feature, The Darjeeling Limited. There was a line around the block for a showing in the SoHo Apple Store yesterday (?), but the great news is that it is available for free download on iTunes. I haven't watched it (on accounting lawyering the shit out of a bunch of folk all morning), but I would like to someday.

Natalie Portman--naked, but for white socks.
News to me indeed. There is too much going on in America.
Too much? Is this akin to your argument that DC is better than NY because it is possible to do everything that the city offers? Jesus.
Refraining from biting on HMZ's hatery, I must say that Chevalier, couple with the reviews for Darjeeling, lead me to believe that Wes has artistically peaked and is humping along at a stage of arrested development that is championed by similarly arrested fans. I believe the wave crested in Wes' Amex commercial.
Can someone explain to me why Wes Anderson bothers to make movies (which require direction, narrative, passion, etc.) when all he's ever aspired to be is a rather gifted interior designer.
Wake me up when the new Paul Thomas Anderson drops and blows our minds.
