The Washington Post has a great article today on what they called "The Moby Equation": or the mathematical formula for deciding whether or not an artist has sold out when they license their music to be used in an advertisement (or if you're British an "advert you stupid twat").
It's a surprisingly well reasoned equation which accounts for the status of the company, the artist's reputation, and the sacredness of the song being sold. Check it out and check out the article as well (just because).
